Your Opportunity at SECURE Energy

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Grande Prairie Industrial site, and Fort St. John operations, ensuring compliance with client requirements and provincial regulations. This role ensures that waste is processed and disposed of safely and efficiently, while maintaining the facility and equipment. The Supervisor also organizes scheduled for staff and equipment maintenance and is accountable for training, developing, and mentoring all facility staff.

Work Environment

The role of Facility Supervisor is structured as a full-time position, working 5 days a week, 40-hours, with the potential for overtime depending on role requirements and deadlines.

The selected candidate will be required to live in Grande Prairie, AB and is expected to travel to the Pouce Coupe region to oversee operations twice per week.

A Day in The Life

  • Ensure safety compliance by overseeing PPE usage, safety meetings, and adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Program
  • Supervise all facility activities, including daily operations and maintenance of equipment for safe operation
  • Organize, delegate, and supervise daily tasks for staff, ensuring sufficient workforce and equipment for smooth operations
  • Coordinate with internal personnel for efficient incoming and outgoing waste management, ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and inventory standards at the facility, addressing any issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure all waste manifests, bills of lading, and regulatory documentation are properly completed and submitted as required
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with budgets, operating expenses, and purchasing policies
  • Train, mentor, and develop facility employees, conducting performance appraisals to foster professional growth
  • conduct regular inspections of the facility and staff performance, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational targets
  • lead daily tailgate and monthly safety meetings, fostering a safe and productive work environment

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in the Waste Management Division or comparable industry experience in waste management, or demonstrated competency
  • Technical Diploma or Degree in a Science, Engineering or an Environmental related discipline, or demonstrated competency
  • Advanced comprehension and ability to implement workplace health and safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site
  • Working knowledge of the environmental and oil and gas industry, and other industrial sectors in the surrounding area
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements for the facility, ensuring compliance with permit conditions, waste characterization, classification, container standards, segregation, storage limits, and transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to persevere through challenging conditions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices is an asset.
