Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a Journeyman Service Electrician to join our fast-paced service & small projects team for Saskatoon and the surrounding area. The role will be responsible for completing daily service calls/small projects, control/BAS wiring, fire alarm systems, refrigeration electrical, EV charging installations and commercial TI's.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, professional work ethic, above average computer skills with Windows-based programs, troubleshooting/analytical experiences, and ability to interact with customers a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing new installations and repair work on electrical equipment and wiring
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations
  • Cut, bend, thread and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
  • Pull wire through conduits, walls and ceiling spaces.
  • Splice, join and connect wire to components to form complete control systems
  • Troubleshooting, analyzing, repairs, reconditioning and re-installing electrical equipment including HVAC, refrigeration systems and various BAS applications.
  • Experience working with electrical and electronic testing equipment
  • Reporting on and recommending improvements to electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Developing and managing work orders, logs, and other documentation accurately and on time
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
  • Some after hours and weekend work will be required

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Electrician with Commercial experience (5+ years)
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology and the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Experience with Fire Alarms is an asset
  • Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics
  • Excellent command of the English Language, both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to execute precision work
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills.
  • Commercial/Construction installations experience
  • Must be able to obtain and pass security clearances once hired.
  • Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
