Angela Degelman, Director of Permanent Search (SK & MB) has partnered up with our client who is seeking a highly motivated, conscientious, innovative, and strategic leader to be the Director, Financial Operations of their unique and busy operations. You will use strong communication skills to provide advice to executives, directors, and managers on all aspects of financial planning, management, reporting, controls, and analysis. You will be a key player in the development of the organization’s strategic plan and accountability processes. Leading a team of financial personnel, you will develop and monitor financial plans and services, and provide direction on acceptable internal control policies and procedures to protect and safeguard the assets of the organization.
The successful candidate will ideally possess knowledge of government, financial, budgetary, and legislative processes and policies, be results-orientated, and be able to plan the work for the department. Using strong conceptual and collaborative problem-solving and relationship-building skills, you will facilitate and negotiate solutions to complex issues among a diverse range of individuals. The position demands a knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (for both Public Sector and Private Sector entities) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards. Previous experience in computerized system management would be an asset.
To qualify for this position, the successful candidate will ideally possess a professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent combination of education and experience as a financial and business manager, with 10 years of experience in a leadership role.
