Quality Analyst, Child & Adolescent and Mental Health Programs

What You’ll Do

  • Reporting to the Director of Program Improvement and Projects
  • Conduct a full range of safety, quality, performance improvement and program evaluation activities by conducting literature reviews; planning, designing, and implementing research and evaluation studies using approved research methodologies; conducting interviews with patients and staff members for evaluation purposes; identifying and interpreting data, including analytic interpretation of findings; and preparing comprehensive reports.
  • Conduct special projects and studies that can lead to the adoption of innovative programs and demonstration of alternative models of program design and delivery by collaborating with other team members in the design and development of the project or study; monitoring development, designing data collection systems, analyzing and interpreting statistical results; and preparing comprehensive reports, providing assessment and recommendations, and identifying implications for service delivery.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences or health-related sciences and one (1) year recent experience in related research/evaluation/decision support in a mental health and addictions environment.

You will also have

  • Leadership and Professional competencies include the ability to liaise with a wide variety of people including clinical teams, clients and other members of Quality, Safety and Performance Improvement
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including strong interviewing skills
  • Demonstrated initiative; ability to work well in a group or independently and under pressure
  • Ability to apply academic knowledge to practical situations; competency in computer statistical analysis programs such as SPSS, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing
  • Commitment to develop knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in the foundational documents – including Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study – and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).

Job Type: Temporary, Part Time (0.20 FTE until April 30, 2025)

Salary Range: $67,861 – 97,550 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
