Intermediate Accountant

Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant in the industry of Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role provides a chance for an individual to engage in a diverse range of accounting tasks. The position involves a hybrid approach with two days a week in the Vancouver office.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation of financial reporting for operations, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and month-end closing.
• Conducting operations related to Accounts Payable (AP) and early stages of bank reconciliation.
• Leading cheque runs and updating spreadsheets manually in Excel, including cost trackers updates and spare parts usage.
• Undertaking manual process tasks and performing variance analysis.
• Collaborating with business operation teams as needed and participating in assigned projects.
• Providing support in General Ledger (GL) reconciliations, plant cost review, and monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Utilizing various accounting software systems to perform accounting functions.
• Ensuring accuracy in maintaining customer credit records and processing customer credit applications.
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Mastery of key Accounting Functions
• Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Understanding of Accrual Accounting principles
• Familiarity with Auditing procedures
• Capability to engage in continuous learning and skills development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations and standards
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
