Inpatient adult forensic mental health is a unique practice environment that balances patient care within the constraints of direction from the Criminal Code Review Board. The patient population on 3-5 are acutely unwell and care is provided on this unit by RPNs, RNs, psychiatric aides, and they are supported by varied allied health and administrative staff. This unit is dynamic with a number of complex patients, and leadership that is thoughtful and analytical is needed. This is a position where you can make significant impact to the functioning of the unit. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Reporting to the Program Manager of Adult Forensics, the Unit Manager’s role is to promote optimal patient care executed within the context of the unit and program goals. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring patient quality of life, employee wellness, and respectful working environments where patient care is centered in every conversation. The responsibilities are a mix of clinical and administrative, with quality improvement and resource management playing a significant role in the work every day.
Recovery Alberta: Y Classification: Unit Manager Union: Exempt Unit and Program: Adult Forensics, Unit 3-5 Primary Location: Alberta Hospital Edmonton Location Details: As Per Location Employee Class: Regular Full Time FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 06-NOV-2024 Date Available: 18-NOV-2024 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Minimum Salary: $39.02 Maximum Salary: $66.92 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable
Required Qualifications:
Good standing with a professional regulatory college. Previous management experience in AHS, Recovery Alberta, or Covenant Health - 2 years minimum. BLS.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated history of self-development of leadership skills. Working knowledge of AHS systems, including ePeople, RMS, RLS, MySafetyNet, eManager.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with ConnectCare. Working understanding of forensic psychiatry, acute mental health, or corrections health.
