Your Opportunity:

Unit 3-5 at Alberta Hospital Edmonton is a 19-bed inpatient forensic unit that supports adults who have legal issues. The Program provides assessment, stabilization, treatment to adults with legal standing. Stabilization is also provided to adults experiencing an acute psychiatric disturbance. The program is a very dynamic and unique program, and the successful candidate will be skilled with discharge planning in a forensic environment. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team; accurate and efficient documentation and charting skills; and a proven competency to deliver a high-quality standard of care. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years clinical experience in inpatient psychiatric, correctional, mental health or forensic settings.

As Required.
