Subject matter expertise in all aspects of regulatory interactions ranging from complaint activity, inspection activity, and citation/violation management is required. In addition, this role is responsible for engaging, collaborating, and partnering with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) within WHS and other functions i.e. operations, engineering, all WHS business units, RME, purchasing etc. to continually improve network WHS standards and procedures. The role involves hands-on work in the areas of understanding stakeholder needs and expectations, WHS regulatory research, stakeholder engagement, data analytics and document technical writing. The individual will be responsible to work collaboratively with SMEs, data analysts and support WHS teams across NA.
Our team is composed of customer obsessed individuals geographically spread across NA. We work with sites, SMEs, and other stakeholders to make sure that all safety and health related regulatory interactions run smoothly.
Basic Qualifications
The base salary for this position ranges from $69,700/year up to $116,400/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. - This is a corporate role that must be located in one of our Canadian corporate offices in Vancouver, Toronto or Ottawa.
- Serve as a liaison between WHS Governance and all business units, such as NACF WHS and AMZL WHS for continual alignment.
- Work with a team that responds to all safety and health regulatory responses. Draft and edit regulatory response letters and other documents for submission to regulatory agencies. Including reviewing for substance, quality, clarity, and timeliness.
- Build and grow competencies in safety and health issues affecting all business units.
- Support building WHS competencies and awareness across different business units regarding regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing and deploying a standard method for monitoring work performed by the team and consultants hired to support the work of the team.
- Lead process efficiency and compliance effectiveness through process verification and validation plans and the development of process flow diagrams that describe critical process interdependencies with respect to process inputs, outputs, risks and impacts.
- Use of data to identify trends related to regulatory interactions.
- Monitor performance of business units against applicable regulatory compliance and internal Amazon standards.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of delivering cross functional projects experience
- Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment
- - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience defining and executing program requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Written/verbal communication skills and organizational skills
- 5+ years experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- 5+ Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvementsExperience with SQL and Excel
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
