Position Title: Brand Digital Content Manager
Reports To: Director, Corporate Marketing Department: Brand Impact Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

This role is responsible for developing and executing the brand content strategy. Working across Product Marketing, Corporate Communications and Client Impact Teams to create and distribute content that supports the Equitable brand.
The role will be a key role on the Brand Impact team as an enterprise-wide leader of brand messaging and content.

What you will be doing:
- As part of our Brand Impact team, you will assist in setting long-term strategic goals for Equitable brand content strategies and programs by leading digital content planning and execution.
- Develop and implement a brand marketing content and paid digital plan that uses content to drive brand awareness for Equitable though various mediums. This includes creating content calendars, identifying key messages and setting measurable objectives.
- Perform market and industry research from online sources and discussion with key subject matter experts to identify industry and content trends.
- Create content that captures our brand voice and tone for brand campaigns, Equitable.ca, paid social media, email campaigns and newsletters to build awareness of the brand.
- Lead web copywriting for brand-owned Equitable.ca pages, and own guidelines for web writing across the enterprise, proofing and editing web content from across the organization to ensure brand consistency.
- Ensure all content is optimized for search engines using the best practices and execution of SEO and keyword optimization for on-page content, keywords, and metadata.
- Champion content and copywriting best practices and disseminate learnings across the organization. Mentor fellow writers across the organization to help them advance their skills through web content reviews and the application of SEO strategy in their writing.
- Evolve brand editorial, voice and tone standards across the organization through contribution to Clear Communications guidelines.
- Report on content related KPIs, using qualitative and quantitative research to inform your content decisions, and adjusting plans according to past performance.
- Stay updated on current technologies, trends and best practices through continuing education and research. Suggest recommendations and/or incorporate into design work as appropriate.
- Evaluate existing processes and workflows to find opportunities for efficiencies.
- Adapt quickly to changes and re-prioritize tasks with short notice, and perform all other duties as required to support overall project completion and success.
- Continuously analyze target audience behaviors, interests, and feedback to refine content strategies.
- Ten years of related writing experience in a brand content writing, marketing writing or corporate communications role.
- University degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Content Marketing, Digital marketing, Advertising, or equivalent combination of education and required experience.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to grammar, style, and clarity. Experience in storytelling and content development is crucial.
- Ability to take complex product and industry information and distill it into easy-to-understand, conversational copy.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative content ideas. Flexibility to adapt to new content formats and industry trends.
- Experience with applying SEO and SEM best practices.
- Experience with measuring, analyzing, and refining content marketing results.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead time-sensitive, multiple simultaneous initiatives with marketing agencies, meet deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
