The Systems Engineering Manager will lead a cross-functional technical team to follow a disciplined approach delivering solutions and products. This role will support the definition, design, and deployment of our solutions. In doing so, they will need to provide guidance to team members and encourage work productivity. They will coach and mentor an effective team within the Engineering department, focused on creating an environment that encourages teamwork, innovation and the sustainable accomplishment of goals.


The Systems Engineering team is responsible for the hardware, sensors, OEM equipment, and interconnections between various components that make up solutions. This role involves interfacing between the stakeholders in the systems development and deployment process. That means your primary role revolves around defining, developing, testing, maintaining and replacing systems. You will help define workflows ensuring these are followed, and review requirements, implement work plans, monitor and report progress. The System Engineering Manager will ensure proper documentation is available and facilitate hand-offs to operations for products and solutions


Responsibilities

Oversee design, selection, and maintenance of system components in our solutions and ensuring they support the software.

· Deliver documentation and training material to the project engineering and operations teams for the deployment and support of system components.

· Drive and support Continuous Improvement ideas

· Guide and direct the work of the team through 1:1 meetings; this includes setting expectations, performance coaching and reviews, and development conversations

· Perform resource and capacity planning for the systems engineering team

· Review requirements, establish plans, monitor and report on progress across multiple projects

· Ensure the quality of the system components that make up our solutions

· Participate in RFP process through technical gap assessments and responses

· Define impact analysis for proposed changes to the system and support System Configuration Management through the whole lifecycle

· Contribute to budgeting estimates for systems and equipment, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting

· Research emerging tools, frameworks, and methodologies to stay ahead of industry advancements

· Ensure system designs comply with industry codes and standards

· Solicit and gather system requirements

· Report on progress towards design milestones and budget

Qualifications

· BSc or higher in an engineering discipline or equivalent training and experience

· 7+ years of experience working as a systems engineer in a technical integrator industry

· 3+ years of experience managing a team

· Experience with all phases of the Systems Engineering design process: requirements development, system architecture, system integration and test, verification and validation

· Strong problem-solving skills with experience in quality management systems (QMS)

· Excellent communication skills with an ability to present complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively

· Results-driven, metrics oriented and highly analytical skills to drive improvements
