- High School Diploma or GED desired.
- Certification of basic welding skills and/or a minimum of two years of experience in welding/fabricating.
- Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
- Must meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
- Operate specified welding equipment to fabricate and repair new and used solid waste handling equipment.
- Repair and prepare equipment for painting, including the painting of assigned equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed.
- Keep an inventory of supplies.
- Maintain a clean work area in the shop or on the job site and any assigned vehicles.
- Assist other shop employees with repairs and duties.
- Inspect and maintain assigned hand tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order, notifying the Shop Manager of needed repairs.
- Ensure quality, efficient, and safe completion of all repairs.
- Adhere to all applicable federal, state/provincial, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and other orders, as well as all Company policies, procedures, and directives from supervisors.
- Attend safety and branch meetings.
- Provide basic personal tools such as a welding shield, basic hand wrenches, etc.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
