Consultant, Human Resources (HR) Governance & Controls – Job Description

  • Join our dynamic team as a Consultant, HR Governance & Controls, where you will play a crucial role in managing operational and business risks within the People, Culture & Brand (PCB) line of business
  • This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective execution of key control testing activities in accordance with the Control Framework and Control & Deficiency Management Policy
  • With a hybrid work arrangement, you'll have the flexibility to thrive in a supportive environment that values accessibility, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication.
  • As a consultant, you will report to the Director of PCB Governance & Controls and work closely with a team of dedicated professionals
  • You will be responsible for analyzing risks, processes, controls, and artifacts to assess control design and operating effectiveness
  • Your role will involve hosting walkthrough meetings, supporting the creation and update of key and non-key controls, and collaborating with key partners on risks, controls, and deficiencies related to existing processes and policies
  • The position requires a commitment to working 37.5 hours per week, with 1-2 days onsite at our Toronto office.


Consultant, Human Resources (HR) Governance & Controls – Mandatory Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with examples of control review improvements
  • 5+ years of experience in key control testing (distinct from IT/UAT testing)
  • Expertise in Financial Process Controls (FPC/SOX), Operational Process Controls (OPC), Regulatory Compliance Management Controls (RCM), and sustainability testing
  • Experience in creating and updating control descriptions, test questions, and control attributes/metadata
  • Proficiency in hosting walkthrough meetings with control performers


Consultant, Human Resources (HR) Governance & Controls – Preferred Skills

  • Experience working at an accounting firm using FPC/SOX controls
