Description:

Detailed examination of case studies in the history of urbanism with close attention to the objects of study. The relationship between design, context, and theory will be explored through analyses of artifacts and texts.

Class Schedule:

Monday 13:00-16:00

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025

Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 250 students

Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $8,489.67; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $8,869.25; Sessional Lecturer II - $9,085.58; Sessional Lecturer III - $9,301.90 per full year course

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, architectural history, or art history.

Description of Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
