Position Responsibilities
The Junior Lifeguard is responsible to lifeguard the aquatics area. The Junior Lifeguard must do so ensuring the safety and well-being of patrons at all times through education and training. Must be able to perform rescues and first aid as required while ensuring an effective, efficient, and safe operation of the Aquatic area. They are responsible to effectively communicate with the patrons to promote water safe activities.
This position is casual. No scheduled hours. Call in basis only.
The successful candidates will be required to work outside of traditional business hours to ensure the fulfillment of safe operations. These positions require individuals to work a range of hours. Scheduling will be dependent on the operational requirements of the facility.
Compensation
Starting wage of $24.06 per hour as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.

- Must utilize safe work procedures which ensure the safety of the staff and patrons in the aquatic area
- Setup and Takedown for events
- Provide Exceptional Customer Service
- Ability to respond to emergencies, adapt, and work within changing environments, problem-solve, and de-escalate situations
- Ability to make decisions and select a course of action
- Ability to work well with others
- Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Award
- Current Standard First Aid
- Basic computer knowledge
- Effective communication skills
- Customer Service Experience
- Punctual and Reliable
- Flexible availability, including but not limited to evening and weekend shift work
