Brief Overview
The prime objective of the Child Care Coordinator is the development of Métis Early Learning Centers, with the overall management, and operations of all MN–S Early Years childcare programs and facilities. The Child Care Coordinator would oversee all ELCC Centre supervisors Including licensing and strategic planning of childcare centers, mission, and curriculum. They would support other strategic initiatives involving the growth and development of childcare spaces while performing these job duties:

Brief Overview
The prime objective of the Child Care Coordinator is the development of Métis Early Learning Centers, with the overall management, and operations of all MN–S Early Years childcare programs and facilities. The Child Care Coordinator would oversee all ELCC Centre supervisors Including licensing and strategic planning of childcare centers, mission, and curriculum. They would support other strategic initiatives involving the growth and development of childcare spaces while performing these job duties:
- Assist with the implementation of ELCC programming activities for the department.
- Assist with programming requirements in accordance with signed contracts/contribution agreements.
- Maintain partnerships with provincial contacts, childcare centers, and service providers.
- Provide support to organizations, stakeholders, and service providers.
- Assist with programming proposals and applications, and review labor and market information.
- Provide overall operational administration of the childcare center plan.
- Collaboratively work with MN–S staff, MN–S Citizens, and MN–S contractors as required.
- Report to the MN–S Director of Education.
- Work with ELCC Centre Supervisors to ensure that each Centre is following MN-S values, mission, and curriculum.
- Provide guidance and support to MN–S regional education initiatives.
- Contribute to budget programming and analysis.
- As an ELCC team member, develop and set strategic goals and objectives in coordination with the ELCC strategic plan.
- Prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on childcare initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with early learning and education service providers across the province.
- Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Director of Education.
- Experience in Early Childhood Education, childcare licensing, ministry documents, and policies involving Early Childhood Education.
- Well-developed administrative, analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of program administration, budgeting/financial management, program planning, and coordinating.
- Knowledge of Métis culture.
- Experience working with Métis clients would be an asset.
- Demonstrated results-oriented skills and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of tact and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations and take appropriate action.
- Work effectively both independently as well as in a team environment.
- The ability to travel, at times in a rental vehicle, may be required.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required.
- Knowledge of technology literacy and proficiency of keyboarding, Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, and various databases.
- Advanced communications skills including speaking, writing, and active listening skills.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, demonstrate good judgment, and make decisions independently within set processes and procedures.
- Resiliency in dealing with changing schedules, timelines, and financial priorities.
- Adaptive to environmental or governmental priority shifts
- ECE Level III and/or ELCC Diploma
- Experience in opening and running a 90-space Childcare Centre
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in a senior childcare management position or supervisor experience in a non-profit that focused on the delivery of early years programs and services.
- Must undergo a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector
- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
