As our new Early Career Environmental Scientist/Engineer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
Working closely with senior team members, you’ll prepare health and safety plans, coordinate and execute field programs, and supervise subcontractors (driller and excavation). You’ll also work on the preparation of field notes and environmental summary reports for work conducted, the environmental monitoring of construction projects, data entry and analysis, and soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, and soil vapour monitoring and sampling programs

- Post-secondary education in environmental, geoscience, or engineering related field
- 1+ years of experience with contaminated site assessment and remediation field programs (previous co-op or internship experience considered)

- Participation in all facets of environmental or contaminated site projects including Phase I and II ESAs, remediation programs, and long-term environmental monitoring of sites.
- Project coordination, field sampling, and reporting
- Conducting field programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, soil vapour, sediment, surface water, and remediation system operation and maintenance
- Conducting analyses, interpretations, and conclusions with support and mentorship from senior technical experts
- Preparing a variety of environmental reports
- Supporting project managers with the planning, reporting, and tracking schedules and budget, all as part of project financial management
- Supporting other technical disciplines and exposure to technically varied and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Working collaboratively and communicating effectively with the project team; and,
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols.

- Minimum of an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or environmental related studies
- Previous experience in contaminated site assessment and remediation programs preferred (previous co-op or internship experience considered)
- Exposure to fieldwork including sample collection and handling preferred
- Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to subsurface investigations and contaminated sites preferred
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal regulations and guidelines related to environmental site assessment
- Work well independently or in small teams including ability to work alone in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources
- Exposure to other environmental consulting services (e.g. hydrogeology, air quality, risk assessment) is an asset
- Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization (P.Eng., P.Geo., E.I.T., G.I.T., etc.)
- Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites/clients
