Are you passionate about using your training and expertise to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer? AHS has a unique opportunity to join Screen Test, part of Alberta Breast Cancer Screening program as a Mammography Tech I (MTI). You will join a dedicated provincial team that operates screening mammography clinics in Calgary and in Edmonton and also provides improved access to screening mammograms for over 120 communities across Alberta through two mobile mammography units. This position is responsible for facilitating the mobile mammography clinics based in Edmonton and performing mammograms at mobile sites primarily in the North and Central Zones. In addition to performing high quality mammographic exams, this position is responsible for the operation and monitoring of all mobile equipment and trailer systems at all mobile sites including the fleet vehicles. This position offers the successful MTI an exceptional opportunity to work a compressed work week.

Description:

As a Mammography Technologist I, you will be responsible for performing mammographic exams to produce high quality images using radiologic digital equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. You will receive and complete requisitions, enter relevant data into the radiology information system and prepare examination trays and patients for specific procedures. You will operate computerized imaging equipment including processing and archiving of acquired data and monitoring patients and equipment performance during procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma in Medical Radiation Technology. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Member in good standing with CAMRT or ACMDTT/other provincial licensing bodies. Minimum of 2 years previous mammography experience. Class 5 driver's license or non GDL and have the capability of driving long distances to remote communities, year-round. The ability to lift supplies of at least 25 pounds up a set of stairs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post graduate course(s) in mammography (e.g., CAMRT Mammo I and Mammo II). Specialty Certificate in Breast Imaging.
