Overview Of The Role

To help support our continued growth, Mariner Innovations is recruiting Senior Change Consultants (full-time or contract) with 8+ years of experience in Change Management roles. Selected candidates will become key members of our highly successful Change Management Practice.

Senior Change Management consultants support Mariner's clients both within the Maritimes and across Canada. In their respective roles, our consultants will work extensively on a variety of high-profile projects and programs involving digital transformation, service/operational process development, culture transformation and/or large-scale deployment of technology. The consultants will be trusted advisors to our senior client stakeholders and will provide thought leadership in their areas of expertise.

What You’ll Be Doing In The Role

As a change consultant with Mariner, you wear many hats depending on the day, project or client. We’re experienced consultants who are leading change programs and projects, building capabilities with the leaders and teams of our clients. The day-to-day work will include much of but not limited to the following:

  • Work with organizations to build knowledge, capability and expertise of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Enable leaders and teams to understand how change impacts people, barriers to effective change and how to support people as they transition through change.
  • Collaborate effectively with individuals and teams to integrate change capabilities at all levels of the organization.
  • Perform change-related assessments, using the outcomes to influence the organization and project in designing tailored change programs.
  • Develop and implement Change Management Strategies and Plans and create/execute quality Communication Plans and deliverables in support of key operational or project initiatives.
  • Ensure the alignment of change management activities within project plans to smooth the adoption process, resulting in successful implementation.
  • Ensure that clients leaders and teams are actively engaged in the change, consulted, and communicated with.
  • Be an active and visible coach to project team members and client leaders/team members.
  • Report to leadership the status of change progress and plans, effectively escalating risks and action plans.
  • Collaborate with Mariner peers and practice leadership to grow and share knowledge.

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:

  • 8+ years’ experience in a Change Lead, Change Manager and/or Management Consultant role, on medium to large transformational projects.
  • 8+ years’ demonstrated experience in development of training, communication, and change management programs and plans.
  • 8+ years’ experience identifying and assessing change impacts to the organization’s business processes, people and technology solutions.
  • 8+ years’ demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of change management industry standards, best practices and methodologies, with a certification in industry-standard change management methodology (CCMP, PROSCI etc.) considered an asset.
  • Experience in a consulting environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience working directly with senior management and leaders of organizations.
  • Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.
  • Strong conflict management, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
