The Operations Funding Partnership Lead will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting on relationships with sponsors, donors, and grantors. This role will work closely with leaders and operational teams in Infrastructure Operations to ensure that the section meets revenue goals through successful funding partnerships with external stakeholders (businesses and not-for-profits).

What will you do?
- Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, and grantors to secure funding and other resources to support operations and programs that Infrastructure Operations is responsible for
- Research and identify potential new partners and funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and individuals
- Develop proposals, pitches, and presentations to secure new partnerships and funding
- Collaborate with fundraising and development team to create targeted solicitation strategies for individual donors, corporate partners, and foundation grantors
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting on all partnership activities, including progress reports and financial reporting
- Provide regular updates to senior management on partnership activities and progress toward fundraising and sponsorship goals
- Manage donor and sponsor stewardship activities, including acknowledgments, recognition, and cultivation efforts
- Work closely with program staff to ensure that partnership activities are aligned with organizational goals and priorities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all partnership activities in a database
- Attend networking events, conferences, and other relevant industry events to represent the organization and identify new partnership opportunities
- Collaborate with communications, marketing, public engagement and creative team as needed to develop materials and messaging that support partnership goals
- Provide training (e.g. lunch and learns, workshops) other supervisors/staff/program coordinators in IO around best practices around grant applications, donation management and sponsorship
- Oversee project teams or task forces put together to work on high value grant applications or sponsor/donor proposals
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Recreation Administration, Commerce, or equivalent
- Minimum of seven (7) years professional experience including competency in nonprofit management, programming involving partnership management, project management, negotiation and administration of agreements and contract, and grant application, interpretation and administration
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE)
- Grant Writing Certificate
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Certification
- Certified Sponsorship Professional (CSP)
- Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Membership/Designation
- Experience in Financial Reporting for Grants and Sponsorships
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Passion for the City’s mission and values, and ability to represent the organization in a professional and engaging manner
- Ability to articulate its impact to funders and stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of crowds and engaging small or large groups of people
- Experienced with using software/databases to manage donor information; experienced with other software such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven track record in developing and maintaining successful corporate sponsorships, partnerships or other business relationships
- Familiarity with best practices around corporate sponsorship, including sponsor activation strategies, benefits packages, and ROI tracking
- Demonstrated experience in researching, writing, and submitting successful grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies
- Understanding of the broader nonprofit landscape, including trends, best practices, and emerging issues, and ability to position the organization as a thought leader in the field
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Experience with managing budgets (creating budgets, monitoring expenses, and reporting)
- Comfortable with working with a variety of stakeholders, including high-profile/high-touch/high-demand clients

- Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position, there may be a cost associated with this requirement

- RESPIRATOR - Successful candidates will be fit for a respirator, and compliance with the City of Edmonton's Code of Practice for Respiratory Protective Equipment, including medical monitoring, is a requirement of this position
- GENERAL - Compliance with the City of Edmonton's safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement for this position
- GENERAL WITH STEEL-TOED BOOTS - Compliance with the City of Edmonton's safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as wearing steel toed boots, is a requirement for this position
- DRIVER’S LICENSE - Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
- Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
