ChampionX has a need for an entry level Technical Sales Representative (District Representative) located in Fort McMurray, AB.
As a District Representative, you will be assigned to customer accounts in the oil & gas industry where you will learn ChampionX's consultative sales approach with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills and retention of strategic accounts. You will need to comprehend foundational applications of products while building long-term relationships with a large customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and providing tailored solutions that improve customers’ operations while growing your accounts.

- Work closely with current and new customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within assigned territory.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and new customer accounts, including plant or facility executives.
- Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels.
- Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer concerns, escalating as required.
- Generate and execute sales plans in assigned customer base and new customer accounts to meet defined territory profit increase goals.
- Travel required to support business requirements and training opportunities.
- Candidate must reside or be willing to move to Fort McMurray, AB

- Must have a valid driver’s license (Class 5) and acceptable driver's abstract with driving experience.
- Post-secondary Education in Business or Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) preferred but not required (new graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong computer application literacy (including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and build relationships with customers.
- Must have the ability to Lift/Push/Pull/Carry up to 55 pounds chest high.
- Must have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- This is a safety sensitive position and the successful candidate will be required to complete drug and alcohol testing in alignment with ChampionX policy.
- 0 – 2 years of customer service / technical sales experience.
- Specialty chemical industry experience, including Water Treatment and knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems.
- High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems).
- History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation.
- Prior experience that required excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Prior experience that required excellent organizational skills.
- Account leadership experience that includes calling on multi-level plant or facilities management to accomplish company goals.
- Prior experience that demonstrates a strong safety and work ethic and ability to multi-task.
