Reporting to the President, the Director of Marketing for The Brick leads our established brand with plans and programs that open new markets, launch new products and strengthen our customer relationships.
As the marketing leader for the company, you will leave your mark on our business and the Canadian marketplace by bringing your insightful, strategic, and creative thinking skills, collaborative team-building capabilities and talent for good communication.
The ideal candidate will be the consummate brand ambassador for The Brick and develop strategies and marketing programs that communicate who we are to the market place on multiple platforms. Responsibilities
Marketing Management
- Strong negotiating skills and a talent for adjusting messaging to varied vendors and stakeholders
- Acts as the leading advocate for The Brick brand; responsible for defining, developing, implementing, and executing marketing strategies for multiple product categories in targeted market segments
- Leads the overall marketing planning and budget strategy development with a keen focus on delivering a strong return on investment
- Develops marketing plans for specific products, services, or business lines as agreed in the Marketing plan
- Collaborates with the Executive and Management teams throughout the company in crafting organizational strategies, product launches, and other initiatives
- Ensures rigorous practices and systems are in place to achieve marketing excellence in the planning, design, execution, and delivery of marketing programs
- Works closely with Marketing and Ecommerce leaders and their teams to develop future marketing and technical strategies for continued growth of thebrick.com Market Research and Development
- Leads the organization and analysis of the research for strategic and marketing planning
- Stays current on changes, trends, and insights in the marketplace/industry to maintain our competitive advantage
- Collaborates with multiple departments on market testing process and the implementation of market research testing activities for products or services Relationship Management
- Collaborates with various internal stakeholders on the effective communication of company and departmental goals (including Purchasing, IT, Operations, Human Resources, Finance and After Sales Service)
- Collaborates with these teams to develop and implement customized plans and sales tools for select market segments, including business development, pricing, and engagement strategies
- Inspires, and mentors team members’ professional development
- Works with their management team to drive the performance of Marketing and Ecommerce Team Members on execution of the approved marketing activities
- Leads and participates in regular Team, Management, and Steering Committee meetings on a weekly and monthly basis
- Communicates regularly with senior management, agencies and clients on the activities and progress of marketing initiatives
- Crafts and communicates initiatives and priorities to internal stakeholders on a regular basis
- Develops and maintains quality relationships with external and internal customers (e.g., vendors, advertising agencies, internal departments, etc.)
- Identifies and assists in the selection of suppliers (agencies) to ensure first class quality and timely delivery of marketing collateral
- Negotiates effectively with media agencies and creative partners on projects and initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced with effectively handling multimillion dollar marketing budgets.
- Prior experience managing third party agencies
- Prior experience managing large and diverse teams
- Effective at building marketing strategies to support branding and merchandising strategies
- Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, make decisions and problem solve.
- Strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
