CGI is looking for a Director Consulting Services in AI, Data & Analytics to help build an already growing team in Edmonton Alberta, guiding our customers on their AI & analytics journey.
In this role, the Director Consulting Services will lead technical implementations, including technical design, cloud & data programs and other initiatives. They will be hands–on crafting AI, data, & analytics patterns with a strong focus on enabling analytics and machine learning ops, DataOps, DevOps, as well as modernizing and migrating workloads. They will also support clients in early-stage architecture and visioning sessions to support crafting strategies and roadmaps.

Your future duties and responsibilities
We help our clients with numerous types of projects covering a variety of different business scenarios including supporting data for machine learning, analytics, business intelligence, data governance. A tested critical thinker, the Director Consulting Services will communicate and deliver modern analytic solutions to solve different business problems while building a team of experts to grow the Edmonton market by:
- Providing technical direction to team members and leading client engagements to develop- test and implement solutions as per the design and within the specified timelines
- Working across a myriad of technology stacks in Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Growing the sales funnel by proactively identifying and developing opportunities and new business, addressing client needs based on our expertise and knowledge of market trends
- Defining cutting-edge AI/ML driven practices and AI lifecycle to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
- Delivering against the strategic roadmap for AI and Analytics architectures
- Managing the development of winning proposals and presentations to create business solutions based on client business requirements
- Measuring and managing client satisfaction
- Ensuring best practices and patterns are being implemented for Ai & analytic solutions
- Coordinating with teams and other stakeholders to build- monitor- and maintain a high-performance cloud infrastructure via automation in both production and non-production environments
- Supporting client development opportunities and workshops
The Director Consulting Services will play a key role on the leadership team – building the advisory practice, assets, and providing thought leadership. Leading a team of up to 15 CGI partners, key management responsibilities include:
- Fostering the development of the team’s capabilities and expertise in line with client needs and market evolution
- Proactively managing CGI Partner assignments on delivery engagements and for new opportunities
- Planning resource requirements and recruitment needs and take responsibility to onboard new CGI Partners
- Taking financial ownership, leveraging your ability to manage project financials
- Providing collaborative leadership to build out the AI function, MLEs, MLOps, and Data Engineering
- Coaching and mentoring our team as we build scalable data and machine learning solutions, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
- Building and deploying end-to-end ML models and leverage metrics to support predictions, recommendations, search, and growth strategies
- Informing and delivering on ambitious product roadmaps to accelerate growth, anticipating client needs and market trends
- Proactively analyzing data to increase quality as it relates to accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, timeliness, conformity, and validity
- Attracting and retaining internal talent by supporting the career development of team members
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master’s preferred
- 15+ years Data & Analytics experience crossing in multiple industries
- Experience in a leadership role where you have demonstrated success in building and maintaining teams, with a keen eye for talent and collaboration
- Up-to-date knowledge of AI/ML technologies and their trends, including various libraries and tools
- Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise scale IoT analytic initiatives
- Extensive hands-on Azure design and architecture experience including key Azure platform and infrastructure services
- Strong experience with IaaS platform capabilities and services (Professional cloud certifications preferred)
- Experience working within an automated CI/CD pipeline for release development- testing- remediation- and deployment
- Experience building feature stores and leveraging auto ML capabilities
- Effective documentation skills including technical diagrams and written descriptions
- Ability to balance environmental requirements with mission need
