Position Overview
Reporting to the Director, Dispatch, the Dispatcher, qualified as per Canadian Aviation Regulations, holds the responsibility of exercising safe and efficient operational control over Flair Airlines flights. This involves crafting flight plans that ensure aircraft operate safely, efficiently, and with cost-effective methods, all while striving to maintain optimal on-time performance.

Primary Job Functions
The duties of the Dispatcher include:
- Exercise operational control jointly with the pilot-in-command, ensuring safe and efficient flight planning and monitoring
- Develop, review, authorize, issue, and revise Operational Flight Plans for all flights, including scheduled, non-scheduled, training, and test operations, aligning with safety, regulatory, customer service, and corporate fiscal requirements
- Authorize aircraft release in accordance with the Operational Flight Plan terms and conditions
- Analyze operational conditions to identify constraints, impediments, or opportunities for enhancing operational capabilities
- Ensure timely provision of Operational Flight Plans and briefing materials to operating crews at base and outstations
- Optimize commercial payload capability within Company policies and procedures, coordinating with other operations stakeholders to maintain uninterrupted flow of critical operational information and prevent disruption
- Analyze the latest weather forecasts, NOTAMs, and aircraft performance to determine route and flight altitude requirements for each flight, prioritizing safety and compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations and the Company Operations Manual
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Holds a Valid Flight Dispatcher Certificate as defined by CARs
- Experience:
- Previous flight dispatch experience in a CARS 705 environment with a Type A or Type B operational control system is considered an asset
- Successfully completed the FDMET and FDOPS Transport Canada Exams
- Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and data entry
- Ability to work irregular hours or shift work that may include overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a schedule that varies
- Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-stress, deadline-driven, ever-changing work environment while prioritizing tasks and assignments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to think outside the box and propose new ideas and solutions, showcasing a proactive and forward-thinking approach

- Requirements:
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction
