The role reports into the Junior Associate Director, BPO and involves a variety of activities including the preparation of performance and statistical reporting, review of regulatory and NAV files prepared by third party administrators, and the use of various Investment Manager tools for enhanced investor reporting. The role plugs directly into the Investment Manager system framework where you will work directly alongside their team and provides an excellent opportunity to gain appreciation of back-office activity from the Investment Manager's perspective. Other responsibilities include:
- Review and approve administrator NAV Calculations for accuracy and completeness, and liaise with the administrator to resolve any issues.
- Calculate fund management and incentive fees according to the fund’s legal structure.
- Review Investor Reports prior to distribution to the investors.
- General oversight of fund allocation including making investor distributions, capital calls, annual audited financial statement review, and any ad hoc requests/inquiries from the investors.
- Liaise with various departments to ensure accurate and on-time maintenance of funds.
- Produce other reporting as required to fulfill both internal and external requirements.
- Train new team members (in person or remotely) on existing as well as new processes.
We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in fund accounting who is interested in broadening their skill set in a Business Process Outsourcing role. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are important as well as an understanding of accounting concepts. Additional qualifications include:
- Experience in fund accounting for alternative investment funds
- Client-facing experience with proven relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Bachelors/Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Professional designation such as CPA/CFA (or in progress) would be considered an asset
