As the Talent Development Specialist (Leadership Development), you will be working closely with the Leadership Development Lead, and are responsible for creating engaging communications, designing leadership content and toolkits, managing vendor relationships, and executing small-scale projects to ensure the successful delivery of programs. This position requires a mix of creativity, project management, and collaboration skills to drive impactful leadership development initiatives.

Please note this role can be done from one of the following office locations Regina, Calgary, Guelph or Toronto. The hybrid work model requires team members to be in office 2 days a week.

How You Will Create Impact

  • Design learning materials including content, presentations, participant guides, job aids and videos to support a variety of initiatives and programs under the leadership development portfolio.
  • Perform a comprehensive analysis of the company's leadership development requirements through consultations with leaders and HR, data examination, and research.
  • Collaborate and consult with cross-functional teams and Talent Management initiatives as a leadership development SME to enable embedding DEI concepts and cooperative values throughout our leadership programs.
  • Lead and manage small-scale leadership development projects, from concept through execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and outcomes are met.
  • Actively engage in sustainment activities related to leadership development to ensure learning continues outside of formal development experiences are available across the enterprise. Support the tracking and analysis of learning metrics for various programs and initiatives.
  • Manage and update the Talent Development SharePoint site for leadership development and work closely with colleagues in Communications to deliver regular impactful leadership development messages to employees & leaders.
  • Create and launch various communication campaigns during the year to support engagement and enrollment in leadership development programs.


How You Will Succeed

  • You have experience with Blooms Taxonomy, ADDIE, and Adult Learning Principles, Knowledge and understanding of adult education including instructional design and evaluation.
  • You possess intermediate knowledge of leadership development strategies, programs, frameworks, and models
  • You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions, and proactively propose solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view. 
  • You build trusting relationships and can effectively collaborate with a variety of team members across the organization.
  • You are proactive and solutions oriented, you seek out opportunities and manage your work with limited guidance and have a can-do attitude.


To Join Our Team

  • Completion of post-secondary degree in Leadership Development, HR, Adult Education, Business, or related field required or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in leadership development or learning & development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (listening, written and oral) Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to lead and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Teams, SharePoint).
  • Knowledge and understanding of adult education including instructional design and evaluation.
  • Evolving project management skills with a focus on managing multiple priorities and delivering on-time results.
  • Effective planning, time-management, prioritizing and decision-making skills.
  • Strong relationship building and consultative skills required to work collaboratively with internal and external learning colleagues and subject matter experts.
  • Strong judgment skills to make recommendations, identify needs; and resolve issues.
  • Must possess strong facilitation and presentation skills.
