About the Team: 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering and Facilities, the Warehouse Automation Lead will implement and improve automated systems and or solutions along with defined processes at the main SSENSE Fulfillment Center. They will contribute to shaping the future of e-commerce and retail customer experiences. The ideal candidate demonstrates a unique balance of analytical skills, people skills, supply chain experience, and systems knowledge.

  • Design and update effective large scale systems to meet functionality requirements and Ensure compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Suggest, develop and improve performance metrics for operations and maintenance teams
  • Create and maintain documentation related to systems and processes and create end to end testing procedures where required
  • Provide technical support and familiarization training to Ops and Maintenance team members
  • Lead design and continuous improvement projects with vendors for equipment and software, and troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, provide corrective actions and documentation


How To Excel In This Role:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience managing similar functions in a large automated facility, and a minimum of 2 years experience with industrial automation
  • Thorough understanding of a breadth of distribution center processes
  • Prior experience working with retail operations systems including order management systems, warehouse management systems, distributed order management, middleware integration
  • Prior experience in data mining, manipulating large datasets, querying databases, data analysis and reporting, an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Autocad, automation frameworks, and test suites, an asset
