Job Overview

The Supply Chain Planner works in the S&OP group and performs a variety of inventory planning functions in accordance with established High liner Foods policies and procedures. This role will support all co-manufacturing leveraging MRP tracking systems to schedule/plan production and delivery of products support sales. This position will support the review and disposition of expired, aging materials, held inventory to meet HLF inventory turns target and budget.

This position can be based at any of our locations, but it requires a hybrid schedule with two days on-site each week.

Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Review expired/soon to expire finished goods, raw material, and ingredients and drive the following actions to ensure inventory loss is mitigated or dispositioned appropriately.
  • Seek shelf-life extensions if necessary to allow for usage in production or sale.
  • Update inventory lot status as decision on dispositions are made.
  • Support the EOL process closely associated with this task.
  • Work within supply chain to support raw material substitutions, CER follow ups.
  • Weekly review of scheduled surf production and submit eligible inventory on grinding hold to production.
  • Coordinate products on donation hold pickups, and inedible products pending destruction
  • Support external reporting for customers as required that utilize HLF as a contract manufacturer
  • Generate and distribute daily customer orders shortages report, specifying reason and possible availability and reason code appropriately.
  • Customer minimum shelf-life requirement management.
  • Review of open sales orders versus on hand inventory to assign lots that meet minimum customer shelf-life requirements.
  • Support OMR team in reviewing customer POs that need to be disputed to mitigate customer fines.
  • Support OMR and Inventory Planners with short, dated FG management.
  • Provide vacation coverage to critical business functions within the Network Planning & Inventory team.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested.
  • Aid leadership in S&OP to identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in Logistics, Operations or Supply Chain related areas.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Logistics related operations, and or Warehousing, Manufacturing, Scheduling, and Inventory Control
  • ERP Software, (JD Edwards preferred), Strong computer skills Microsoft Office, (Excel)
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Strong organizational, high level of accuracy, detail orientated.
