THE POSITION

Reporting to the Vice President Leasing, the Senior Commercial Leasing Director is responsible for the planning, development and leasing of commercial space, either off-plan or already built, to potential retail tenants.

Responsibilities

Leases spaces according to budgets and parameters established by the employer and in line with Merchandising;

Negotiates leasing agreements, including financial transactions, legal documents and coordinates construction work;

Makes appropriate financial calculations to compare profitability with set objectives;

Obtains approval of transaction parameters from supervisor;

Coordinates leasing files with each department concerned and ensures close follow-up;

Contributes to the marketing and design of buildings and/or commercial spaces;

Research and analyze the real estate market and the competition;

Participates in the organization of the commercial leasing team as required, in order to improve their performance and ensure operational efficiency in the department;

Establishes strategy to achieve leasing objectives;

Creates and maintains good business relationships with tenants and participates in prospecting activities;

Travels as required in the course of his/her duties;

Participates in ICSC conventions;

Acts as a team leader, encourages communication and respect;

Develops and maintains good relationships with team members, conducts performance appraisals, encourages training and professional development;

All other related duties.

OUR IDEAL COLLEAGUE

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field

Broker’s license issued by the OACIQ, an asset

7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar position

Relationship with local and international retailers

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Ability to make strategic decisions and solve problems proactively.

Strong leadership and ability to lead a high performance team.

Results-oriented with a strong customer focus.

In-depth knowledge of real estate regulations and market trends.
