Job Description:

TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering investment solutions to both institutional, portfolio managers, investment advisors and individual investors. For over two decades, the organization has established competitive market positions in active, quantitative and passive portfolio management. As of March 31, 2024, TDAM and its affiliates manage over $427 billion in assets on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment/foundation, and corporate clients, as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.

In attaining this client commitment, TDAM has built one of Canada's largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts.


TDAM's Advisor Distribution division is responsible for managing client relations and promoting a range of mutual funds, ETFs and SMAs through a sales and service team of over 100 people.

Role

Reporting to the Director, Eastern Canada, Advisor Distribution, the Business Development Manager is responsible for managing relationships and selling TD Asset Management strategies within an External Distribution territory.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for partnering with the Regional Vice President and co-managing an assigned territory of portfolio managers and investment advisors.
  • Become an indispensable business partner by providing industry intelligence, business strategy and sound investment counsel.
  • Executes on the business plan, meets activity targets and ensures an excellent customer experience.
  • Develops new business and increases share of wallet within the region by proactively attracting, acquiring and retaining customers.
  • Works collaboratively with internal partners to maximize distribution effectiveness and provide a seamless client experience.
  • Works on investment strategy and portfolio construction analytics
  • In-depth understanding of TDAM products and those of key competitors
  • Upholds corporate and industry sales practices.

Skills & Experience Required

  • University degree
  • Preference given to industry accreditations (CFA, CIM, FCSI)
  • 3+ years of industry sales experience
  • In-depth knowledge of both asset management and wealth management industry
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
  • Strong interest in capital markets
  • Excels in a sales environment
  • Fully fluent in French (for Quebec Region)
