YOUR TEAM

Behind the scenes of our projects, our administrative departments ensure that every initiative is given its due. They intervene at various stages of development, supporting and accompanying the Moment Factory teams. You'll be part of a passionate team that thrives on project diversity, varied production cycles and a wide range of customers.

YOUR MISSION

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Tax Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the tax compliance of all company entities, by ensuring compliance with local, national, and international tax regulations. You will actively participate in international expansion projects, providing expertise in cross-border transaction taxation, transfer pricing and restructuring, while complying with current tax laws.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Determine the tax provisions for income taxes payable;
  • Document year-end audit files and participate in the annual audit with external auditors regarding income tax and tax amounts appearing in the financial statements of Moment Factory and its subsidiaries;
  • Compile the required information for tax returns and file them in collaboration with external tax advisors;
  • Prepare any other forms for a group with an international scope, such as T106, T1134, NR, and T5 forms;
  • Prepare quarterly provisional tax payments;
  • Follow up on tax notices issued by federal and provincial revenue departments to ensure they align with filed tax returns and tax payments made;
  • Participate in income tax audits by various government authorities;Monitor foreign tax withholding in different countries;
  • Supervise the preparation of tax returns and submit them for Moment Factory and its foreign subsidiaries in the various countries where it operates;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable consumption tax laws for Moment Factory and its foreign subsidiaries;
  • Calculate transfer pricing between LSMF and its subsidiaries;
  • Document the transfer pricing strategy;
  • Assess tax risks related to customer and supplier contracts, negotiate and review the drafting of tax clauses, collaborating with legal teams and project teams to anticipate and minimize tax impacts;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and optimization of international tax strategies in collaboration with local and international teams, while supporting the work of external advisors, to effectively structure the company’s tax framework and minimize associated risks;
  • Conduct necessary tax research and analysis to identify issues, facts, laws, and tax consequences of various business transactions;
  • Stay informed of legislative and regulatory changes in tax law and assess their impact on our operations;
  • Provide tax advice to internal teams regarding transactions, restructurings, and other business initiatives;
  • Prepare tax analyses and reports for management in support of strategic decision-making


YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES

  • Degree in taxation, law, accounting, finance, or a related field;
  • Master's degree in taxation or equivalent;
  • Completed or currently enrolled in a Master’s in Taxation or advanced taxation courses from ICCA or the equivalent (a plus);
  • Specialization in international taxation (a plus);
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a firm or in industry (ideally within a consulting firm or multinational company);
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian and international tax regulations, as well as tax treaties;
  • Expertise in transfer pricing standards, transaction taxation, and overall tax compliance;
  • Research and tax analysis skills necessary to identify issues, facts, laws, and tax consequences of various business transactions;
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex tax regulations;
  • Good knowledge of software used to prepare tax returns and tax forms, such as Taxprep for Corporations and Taxprep Forms;
  • Proficiency in both French and English, both oral and written (you will regularly communicate with English-speaking clients in this role);
  • Excellent proficiency in office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
