This role can be located in Montreal or Toronto (Hybrid).
Under the supervision of the Head of Investment Banking, you will have an important role within the investment banking team. You will be primarily responsible for supporting the Metals & Mining investment banking group and helping to coordinate banking opportunities with the firm’s issuer base.

Under the supervision of the Head of Investment Banking, you will have an important role within the investment banking team. You will be primarily responsible for supporting the Metals & Mining investment banking group and helping to coordinate banking opportunities with the firm’s issuer base.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the execution of mandates focused on: (i) strategic M&A; (ii) advisory; and (iii) financings;
- Financial modelling using discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, precedents, etc.;
- Build, review, and maintain detailed financial models and databases;
- Prepare client presentation materials and other deliverables, including compiling data and assembling presentation materials;
- Assist in transaction execution tasks as required;
- Perform due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of live transactions;
- Develop recommendations for product offerings, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and valuations;
- Coordinate internal resources and train / develop junior team members;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2+ years of prior Investment Banking experience;
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Finance, Engineering, Geology, or other related field;
- Clearly defined interest in: (i) mining; (ii) finance; and (iii) capital markets;
- Bilingual (English and French), Strong oral and written communication skills;*
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate easily;
- High degree of work ethic and motivation;
- Organized, strong attention to detail and have the ability to meet tight deadlines;
- Self-motivated and curious, with proven ability to make decisions;
- Proficient with MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
- Completion of modelling courses;
- Prior mining or investment banking experience;
- MBA and / or enrollment in the CFA program.
- Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
