Building Maintenance Supervisor

The New Brunswick Housing Corporation (NBHC) is seeking an individual to join the Management Team as a Building Maintenance Supervisor in the Moncton office.
As a member of the Management Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of staff in such areas as recruiting, determining training and developmental needs, resolving conflicts, setting performance objectives as well as evaluating performance. This position requires excellent coaching and leadership skills along with the ability to build external partnerships. The successful candidate will also plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the maintenance and repair of provincial buildings and assets. Work includes overseeing the operation and maintenance of the heating/ventilation and electrical systems, overseeing repairs ensuring they are to code, planning of maintenance and improvement budgets, scheduling and estimating repair estimates, overseeing inventory, housing inspections, preparing reports, interacting with clients, and completing and submitting vehicle log books. Additional duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have successfully completed high school or GED and must possess a minimum of four (4) years' experience in a building, home and/or maintenance environment, one (1) year of which must be supervisory experience.
Written and spoken competence in English is required for the current vacancy. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that have demonstrate experience in one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- experience working with vulnerable clientele
- any advanced certification in building construction
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.
The following operational requirement(s) is also required Travel within and outside the region may be required.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Office location: Moncton, NB
Standard hours of work: *Monday - Friday 8:15 am to 4:30 pm.
Some travel within the province and valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick will be required.

Salary: $28.03 per hour.
