ChampionX has a need for a Maintenance Lead located in Calgary, AB.
The purpose of the Maintenance Lead is to coordinate the maintenance activities for the Calgary plant/facility and assist with the coordination of 3rd party contractors in Leduc Plant.
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for scheduling of maintenance activities, including those for third party contractors, managing utility expenses including opportunities to save and the proper upkeep of records and files essential to analyzing and reporting of maintenance-related matters. The Maintenance Lead is also responsible for coordinating capital projects for the Calgary manufacturing plant.

The position requires the ability to plan, schedule and complete work around hazardous chemicals. Blend plant requires both preventative maintenance and predictive. - Will report directly to the Calgary Production Manager
- Provides direction and leadership to the Maintenance Technicians
- Responsible for determining the repair scope of work for the plant equipment as well as the execution tactics that will be employed.
- Work closely and communicate frequently with Production and Materials Movement Department stake holders to schedule and coordinate work to achieve plant production goals
- Track and manage a portion of the routine maintenance budget; parts and equipment costs, supplies and tools
- Maintain maintenance procedures, and manage MI documentation
- Review work order backlog to ensure that each job is completed and that completed work orders and work permits are filled out completely.
- Prioritize repair work and assist scheduling repairs.
- Travel to Leduc is required to assist in contractor management and proper execution of preventative maintenance
- Support and promote all Safety policies and procedures.
- Work with Production Scheduler to set up equipment repair times.
- Work with Production Lead daily on equipment problems/issues.
- Work closely with Project Manager in Leduc to manage and coordinate projects within the Calgary Plant.
- Review and manage utility use in the Calgary Facility
- Participate in selecting contractors, getting quotes, scheduling projects.
- Lead with parts procurement.
- Report on Key Performance Indicators to show plant status and progress
- This role requires individual to be clean shaven to comply with safety requirement
- This is a safety-sensitive position, and the successful candidate will be required to complete drug and alcohol testing.
- 10-25% travel required.

- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs.
- Walking and climbing in an industrial environment to scope work order requests and work completion.
- Working from heights and in and decibel area.
- Working in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
- Minimum 2 years of education beyond High School (College or Technical School) or comparable work experience.
- Previous experience in maintenance planning or mechanical or electrical trade in industrial environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Forklift, Aerial Work Platform, Fall Protection Certification, TDG, WHMIS
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills (troubleshooting) required.
- Basic leadership abilities required.
- Basic computer skills: SAP, Word and Excel required.
- Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation required.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to handle multiple on-going tasks and/or projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Previous chemical industry experience.
