The VP, Technology will play both strategic and tactical roles, engaging with the Canadian leadership team to help improve internal systems and architecture to meet the growing needs of the business. They will lead digital information and utilise innovative technologies to create value and identify efficiency for the business.

Our client is a major player in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector and is currently seeking a local leader for their technology division to act as an integral member of the leadership team, providing expertise regarding the technical transformation and taking ownership of the target IT operating model.
Description
Advance the IT dexterity of business partners and present new business options and opportunities based on successful examples.
Champion collaboration between IT and the business to offer a seamless and satisfying customer experience that has a positive impact on business outcomes.
Be an evangelist, championing the use of digital and IT technologies and practices to establish a digital mindset from the top down.
Drive collaboration, knowledge sharing, and IT best practices among partners and colleagues to help establish a robust IT and digital ecosystem.
Measure key performance indicators for IT projects to ensure Client Canada is investing in the appropriate tools and resources.
Maintain external accreditation and an in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies, external regulation, and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
IT Strategy and Innovation
Participate actively in the creation and refinement of Client Canada's business strategy.
Enhance and drive the current IT strategy, focusing on IT-enablement of:
Best-in-class service levels
Improvements in productivity
Robust cybersecurity
Work with executives and the senior leaders of the organisation to drive and optimise the internal capabilities needed to support that effort.
Drive digital innovation both externally, in Client Canada's interactions with customers, partners, and suppliers, and internally, collecting and analysing data.
Improve organisational efficiency through the use of digital technologies that enable Client Canada to compete successfully in the digital age.
Provide technology translation to help executives understand technology, by providing advice and frameworks to guide decision making and planning.
Enterprise Architecture, Systems and Infrastructure
Own the architecture and set the technology standards for the organisation, in alignment with the group's applicable IT standards, policies and procedures.
Enhance enterprise architecture and data analytic capabilities to focus on combined resources, competencies, information technology processes, and their environments to create unique competitive possibilities.
Drive the analysis and decision making around current and future Enterprise Applications needs, including ERP/Finance, Production Scheduling, Demand & Supply Planning, Warehouse Management (WMS), Industrial Maintenance, and Trade Planning systems that enable future business plans.
Drive decision making around enhancements in IT infrastructure, including datacenter/cloud hosting, networks and data storage, in line with the IT strategy and future system requirements, that enable flexibility and scale.
Work in alignment with Parent's IT Leadership to enhance Client Canada's IT architecture for scalability that will enable organic growth of the business and acquisitive growth through ease of integrating potential future acquisitions.
Continuously enhance Client Canada's data security and privacy practices, and protect the organisation by enabling the safe operation of its IT systems, on-premise & cloud hosting environments, network operations, and end user computing
Ensure related compliance requirements are addressed, risks are mitigated, and control processes for security incidents are appropriately managed.
Drive compliance with relevant security and control standards.
Support/encourage business-led teams that combine business users, business technologists and specialised IT resources needed to focus on significant and continuous business capability improvement.
Ensure the IT Organisation enables new technology tools and platforms used by business fusion teams and provides the new IT foundations needed to support all company efforts.
Establish engagement resources and processes to provide fast and seamless access to technical and other types of expertise where and when business partners need it.
Profile
The individual will play a visible role, both strategically and tactically, among the Canadian leadership team and will be accountable for helping Client Canada enhance its overall systems and technology architecture in line with the growing needs of the business, as well as using digital information and innovative technologies (e.g. Cloud, AI) to create business value.
Develop and maintain close relationships with the executive team and provide them with strategic insight and counsel when it comes to evaluating corporate strategies, plans, and priorities that determine the organisation's technology service requirements.
Identify the skills required to enhance IT maturity and realise business benefits, as well as encourage staff to enhance and evolve their skills and capabilities.
Act as an agent of cultural change by championing the IT enhancement and transformation initiatives over the next 3-5 years.
Education / Certifications
● Completed post-secondary education, preferably in Business/ecommerce, Technology or a combination of equivalent professional experience and training.
● A Masters or Professional level degree (e.g., MBA) is an asset.
● Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations is an asset.
● Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
● Consumer Good and Products industry experience is an asset.
Experience
● Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant functional experience including leading the delivery of customer focused IT strategies from conception to completion.
● Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in successfully managing people and IT vendors/suppliers.
● Relevant experience in working on projects involving multiple stakeholders including working with agile and waterfall development methodologies.
● Relevant experience in managing large scale IT transformations, including the associate program management, change management, and steering committee involvement.
● Ability to analyse new product development opportunities and make recommendations for ongoing improvements of existing products.
● Ability to create innovative strategies to improve our ability to execute faster and to secure buy-in from a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
● Experience in managing relationships with technology, operations, and business members.
● Experience in assessing financial, human and customer impacts.
