Position Summary

Located at The Willett in Paris, this position is the first point of contact for most of our patients and your skills as a Brant Community Healthcare System ambassador will prove invaluable. A personal commitment to place the patient's best interest first and foremost when providing service, with a commitment to confidentiality of all information related to patient care, is a must. Reporting to the Manager, Health Information Management, you will be an active team member, in a multi skilled/multi disciplinary environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Completing the registration process for all patient services including but not limited to ER, FC, Pre-op, Ambulatory Care, Cardiac Diagnostics, WHC, DEC.
  • Scheduling patients through community wide scheduling
  • Distribution of patient information, through manual and technical means, while maintaining the integrity of all data.
  • Switchboard/Dispatching coverage as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Graduate of Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent
  • Medical Terminology Certificate
  • Proficient in keyboarding and data entry- 50 WPM
  • Experience in community wide scheduling
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Previous experience with Meditech

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health care utilization processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a multi disciplinary team setting
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to plan and set objectives and prioritize workload.
  • Self-directed, reliable, mature, dependable individual
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in emergency situations
  • Must be available for all shifts, weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Able to handle all physical demands

Physical Demands

  • Excellent physical health i.e. bend, lift, walk, carry, pull, kneel, push, with the ability to maintain a high standard of performance. 75% of the shift you will have lengthy sitting, intensive visual concentration and use of VDT
