Job Description
The Opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking a Building Sciences Consultant to join our Buildings group, in either Edmonton or Calgary AB. Reporting to the Team Lead, Building Sciences this position will be responsible for conducting site reviews and assisting our Engineers on projects related to evaluation and restoration of existing building envelope/enclosure assemblies, including, but not limited to: wall cladding, windows, roofing, below-grade waterproofing, parking garage structures, and balconies.

A day in the life:
- Apply engineering knowledge to tasks on building envelope restoration & capital planning projects
- Assist engineers with building envelope condition evaluations & site reports
- Conduct construction and site reviews, monitoring quality of building repairs
- Liaise with contractors, sub-consultants and engineering disciplines
- Contribute to the contract administration process on construction projects
- Accept responsibility for project tasks, deliverables and outcomes
- Apply sustainable thinking and practices within project delivery
- Contribute to the knowledge systems within the building science practice
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Sciences, Architectural Science or Applied Science;
- Demonstrates a passion in building sciences, building envelope technology, or building construction;
- Previous co-op / summer work experience in the construction or engineering industry related to buildings is ideal;
- A collaborative team player, amongst energetic, successful people;
- Strong at multi-tasking, organized and adaptable to shifting priorities;
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
