Your Opportunity:

The Corporate Investigations Unit (CIU) is looking for a highly motivated and seasoned professional to fill a permanent full-time position of Investigator. This position will be based in Edmonton, Calgary or Central zone. As the Investigator, you will have progressive experience within a large, complex, and diverse organization. In collaboration with the Protective Services Team, you will provide investigative expertise, advice, and direction for workplace investigations. This role is also responsible to address patient and public concerns. As part of a high-functioning team of professionals, you will navigate various complex and sensitive workplace investigations. In this role you will collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring investigations adhere to best practices and align with the AHS mission, vision, values, and core objectives. Cultivating a collaborative, effective, and engaged workplace while building and nurturing relationships with team members and stakeholders. Being a role model, identifying issues, problems solving, and providing effective advice to the team and stakeholders, you will bring an innovative approach to developing and supporting our team. Description:

The Corporate Investigations Unit (CIU) is part of the AHS Clinical Support Services Team. Reporting to the Chief Protective Services Officer, the role of the CIU is to support, facilitate, advise and assist with professional investigations initiated into allegations of unprofessional or prohibited conduct in the organization. This is part of AHS’ commitment to patient care, employee safety and public accountability. The CIU Investigator works closely with HR Business Partnerships, Patient Concerns, Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs and other internal and external partners as required. Conducting thorough timely and respectful workplace investigations, which result in transparent outcomes to enhance the public’s trust and confidence in healthcare and the organizations commitment to professionalism across the broad range of services and programs. Working within the Protective Services framework, CIU Investigators strive to enhance safety and wellness for all AHS employees by conducting threat, risk and safety assessments and through professional interactions with partners in public safety and wellness.

Required Qualifications:

Ten (10) years in an Investigative capacity, ideally in a larger organization of similar complexity and diversity as AHS. Experience with advanced interviews experience and knowledge. Violence risk management training. A minimum of post-secondary education or a combination of education and experience. Major Case Management training and experience. Experience in testifying at judicial and/or quasi-judicial venues.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Flexibility to leave the local site to work out of town on short notice.
