Are you passionate about creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for young children? At the City of Medicine Hat, we're seeking a dedicated Program Leader to join our team and enrich the lives of our youngest residents. Based at the Big Marble Go Centre, you'll lead the planning and delivery of an engaging child-minding program for infants and children aged 3 months to 7 years. In this role, you'll ensure their safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment while supporting a variety of recreational activities. You'll thrive in our dynamic environment, making a positive impact on children's development and their sense of belonging.
Core hours offer part-time stability: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Opportunities for additional hours may be available, bringing your schedule closer to full-time based on operational needs.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead the Child-Minding program for children aged 3 months to 7 years.
- Ensure the safety, security, and wellbeing of all children in your care.
- Create engaging, interactive play experiences that promote learning and development.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and team members to ensure the needs of the children are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, following health and safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service to families.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills to manage program delivery and keep accurate records.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and the willingness to learn city-specific software.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma.
- Six (6) months of general experience in Parks and Recreation programming or a related field.
- Must be of minimum age (18).
- Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record.
- Preference will be given to candidates with current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate C.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
