Are you interested in the Canadian democratic process? Would you like to work with the office that oversees the electoral processes in the province of New Brunswick?
Elections New Brunswick (Elections NB) is a non-partisan office of the Legislative Assembly. Elections NB administers free and fair elections in accordance with the Elections Act. The Chief Electoral Officer also serves as the Supervisor of Political Financing under the Political Process Financing Act (PPFA). The Supervisor monitors compliance with the PPFA by provincial political participants.

As Financial Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for examining electoral financial returns related to the October 2024 provincial general election.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a university or college program in management, business administration, or commerce with a concentration in financial accounting.
- Written and spoken competence in English or French is required. Please state your language capability and identify your preferred language for assessment.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:
- Successful completion of one or more courses in financial auditing
- Work experience in financial accounting and/or financial auditing and/or a financial regulatory environment
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: The successful candidate will possess the following technical competencies:
- Ability to use office technology, software, and applications (MS Excel, Word, and Outlook)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYEMENT:
Security clearance process: The Office of the Provincial Security Advisor, at the Department of Justice and Public Safety, coordinates the security clearance process. The process requires the applicant to submit to a:
- Criminal record check,
- Credit inquiry,
- Identity verification,
- Personal background investigation, and
- National security investigation.
Salary: from $51 662 to $72 176 / year, Pay Band 3 - Management and Non-union Pay Plan
from $56 758 to $79 378 / year, Pay Band 4 - Management and Non-union Pay Plan
