Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
Location: Located in Prince George, Williams Lake or Prince Rupert
As Project Manager at Drax, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering capital projects aimed at improving safety, reliability, and efficiency across the Northern Pellet operations within the specified budget and timeline. The role requires strong operational experience and the ability to collaborate with the operations and technical teams to identify opportunities for integration with the plant and implement necessary modifications to minimize disruptions to operations.

As Project Manager at Drax, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering capital projects aimed at improving safety, reliability, and efficiency across the Northern Pellet operations within the specified budget and timeline. The role requires strong operational experience and the ability to collaborate with the operations and technical teams to identify opportunities for integration with the plant and implement necessary modifications to minimize disruptions to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As Project Manager – your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Champion excellent project HSE performance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Pellet Mill Management teams, technical teams, vendors, sub-contractors and supporting teams across the organization
- Manage the execution of engineering projects at the designated pellet mill operations with accountability for safety, cost control, schedule, and quality
- Work with the Operations Process Manager to compliant delivery of the project.
- Coordinate resources and acquire necessary permits for safe project delivery.
- Supervise contractor compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Coordinate plant commissioning and start-up activities.
- Develop and manage project budgets, track progress, and manage inventory.
- Manage contractual agreements with contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure projects are completed within costing guidelines and provide technical guidance to site management teams.
- Successfully deliver projects within standards and communicate project progress regularly. service guidelines and statutory compliance in both engineering and financial (service alerts and inspections, expenses, materials etc).
You'll possess the following skills, abilities, and experience:
- Proactive safety leader with a strong technical or business degree and extensive experience in engineering or project management.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing operations, wood pellet manufacturing experience is desirable.
- Must have experience in equipment design, project management, construction safety and operations.
- Knowledge of technical language, subcontractor and supplier management, and environmental and construction permit requirements is necessary.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills are a must.
- Understanding of financial processes and the ability to drive results across multiple functions are required.
