Location: This is an onsite position located in Moncton, NB.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
Language: The applicant MUST demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills in both English and French.
· A language aptitude test may be requested; the successful candidate will be interacting with local and provincial partners.

Description
The New Brunswick Health Council (NBHC) is a provincial organization with a dual mandate of publicly reporting on the performance of the health system and engaging citizens in the improvement of health service quality.
We are seeking a skilled Population Health Analyst to join our team and play a key role in evaluating the performance of our health system. The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis, public reporting, and knowledge translation of indicators related to population health and its determinants.
Working under the authority of the Manager, Health Research Analysis, you will handle data from a variety of external and internal sources to provide valuable insights that inform health system improvements and public policy.
Principal tasks and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be leading research, knowledge production and public reporting related to population health through:
· Data Analysis: Analyze, interpret, contextualize and disseminate data on population health determinants and outcomes using various quantitative and qualitative methods.
· Reporting & Insights: Prepare clear and actionable reports on the performance of the health system, highlighting key population health indicators, trends, and insights.
· Public Reporting: Support the public reporting of health system performance by compiling and presenting data in a user-friendly format for a broad audience.
· Knowledge Translation: Translate complex health data into accessible formats for a variety of stakeholders, ensuring the results are understandable and actionable for decision-makers.
· Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders (experts, decision makers, users) to identify and collect relevant data for the measurement of population health determinants and outcomes.
· Evaluation: Contribute to the review, improvement and development of new indicators and contribute to the validation process of data and indicators.
· Research Support: Assist in the development of research projects related to population health and health system performance, providing analytical support as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
Education:
· Master's degree in population health, epidemiology, public health, health sciences or in a directly related field. (An equivalent combination of education (minimum Bachelor level) and experience will be accepted).
Experience:
· At least 3 years of experience in information and research analysis in the population health field.
· A solid knowledge of population health indicators and their use in the development, planning, management, and evaluation of health policy.
· Interpretation of statistical analyses, synthesis of information, and translation of data into public reporting.
· Writing and developing content to report on observations and findings.
· Questionnaire development.
Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Presentation skills
· Proven experience in working with data in Excel
· Experience with software such as MS Office
· Time management and organization skills
· Good team worker but also able to work autonomously
· Big picture thinker with good attention to details
· Good prior work record (performance and attendance)
· Adherence to professional ethics and the values of the organization
· Respect the confidential policies of the NBHC
Strengths:
· Have a good understanding and experience with statistical software SAS or SPSS
· Experience in health services quality and performance measurement.
