About The Role

We’re looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Auto , to join our growing team in our Dartmouth, NS Office!

What You’ll Do Here

  • Directs and coordinates the activities of the adjusters related to the processing of claims in order to achieve objectives in terms of commitment, management of excess costs, efficiency and customer service.
  • Contributes to the achievement of corporate and regional objectives by measuring team performance, ensuring quality of claims handling, level of compliance with standards, procedures and productivity.
  • Manage the activities of his/her team by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources according to the budget, while promoting teamwork and guiding their technical training.
  • Participate in the improvement of operational processes.
  • Make decisions for his/her team regarding the processing of claims and the payment of indemnities in accordance with company standards.
  • Promote the brand image and business principles to partners.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and mentor staff to achieve results and exceed targets.
  • Experience in claims handling is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership of work
  • Experience in a contact centre environment would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and customers.
  • Willingness to immediately enroll and complete Charted Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
  • University Degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role.
