Systems Engineering Senior

Job Summary

Our client in Waterloo, ON is looking for a Systems Engineering Senior. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do

The Software Data Engineer will join the FNV Analytics Data team. The FNV Analytics data team is responsible for the tools which allow us to measure the quality of our products in the field based on their connected data. It's this team's products which allow us to measure who often we are seeing black screens / system resets in the field, Bluetooth disconnection, CarPlay connection failures, etc. across software builds / vehicles lines / etc. These tools are allowing forward to proactively drive down warranty claims. You will be responsible for taking requests from various internal clients, developing solutions using data from a variety of sources and presenting results in an appropriate format. You will be working in a fast-paced and high-volume data-processing environment, where quality and attention to detail are vital. You will be responsible for identifying/validating the upstream data quality issues before building analysis models. You will be working in an agile product development environment, including stand up meetings, regular sprint planning, demos and retrospectives.

Basics

  • Fluent writing performance tuned SQL code (MS SQL Server or equivalent alternatives).
  • Interrogating data for quality assurance before building advanced data models.
  • Advanced programming experience in one or more of the following languages:
    • Python.
    • R.
    • C#.
  • Advanced experience on data extract, transform/load processes with a variety of data types (structured, semi-structured) and protocals (e.g. API call using oauth mechanisms).
  • Advacned Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, PowerBI etc.).
