Convergint is currently recruiting for a temporary Journeyperson HVAC Mechanic to join their team in Fort McMurray. In this role, you will be working in a technical/mechanic position on our Maintenance team at our customers oil sands sites.

- This is a 14/14 rotating shift. You will be provided with local accommodation for duration of your shift and a travel allowance to and from Fort McMurray per shift.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”
- Inspect systems and their components for the purpose of ensuring proper and efficient operation of equipment.
- Respond to service and warranty calls and repair failed components in a timely and efficient manner to support facility and tenant needs.
- Prepare documentation for the purpose of providing written support in compliance with regulations and/or conveying information to customer on work performed.
- Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning HVAC/R equipment.
- Use HVAC knowledge, skills and experience to act as mentor for less experienced staff. May provide guidance to workers in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
- Work closely with our Building Automation Systems (BAS) technicians to trouble-shoot as well as coordinate service and support for automated and networked HVAC systems.
- Learn and apply BAS knowledge from the field, work with a positive and questioning attitude with our BAS Technicians, and increase personal ability to work with our client’s automation products and systems.
- Execute all work in accordance with Provincial & Local regulations, general best practices, and company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times, thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Outstanding Customer Focus – Maintaining awareness of and seeking to meet of the needs and wants of the customer
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- High Quality technical performance, utilizing developed skills and newly acquired skills to service our clients
- Strong Initiative & Drive – Engages in proactive behavior and looks for new project and service opportunities
- Willing adaptability – Responds effectively to changes in situation or information
- Financial analytical skills including cost control
- Average Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, and Word skills
- Strong Organization skills for time management, paperwork, documentation, work-orders and records
- Minimum of 4 years field experience
- Industrial site experience an asset
- Energy Industry experience preferred
- Commissioning and Start-Up experience preferred
- Journeyman HVAC/R Mechanic certification required
- Gas Fitter ‘A’ Ticket is considered an asset
