Position Summary

We are looking for a professional and safety-oriented Class 1 Truck Driver/ Shunter( Part Time Permanent), you will have the ability to work well with minimal supervision and have a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks promptly and safely. Primary responsibility is to efficiently move and relocate trailers and containers within our transportation yard or facility. Duties include performing shunting maneuvers to position trailers for loading and unloading, ensuring the timely and safe transfer of cargo between storage areas and dock doors.

Location: Calgary, AB

Position: Part time Permanent position

Schedule: Monday – Friday 12:00 Noon to 6:30 PM

What You Will Do

  • Moving around 15-25 shunt trailers per shift using a shunt truck
  • Be able to park trailers efficiently and tidy yard spacing to help traffic flow
  • Follow company rules and regulations with respect to safety and hours of service
  • Ensure trailers are in good working condition and readily available to be loaded
  • Doing local deliveries within Calgary
  • Assisting in the Warehouse offloading trailer

What You’ll Bring

  • Valid Class 1/AZ License is required
  • Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
  • Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience required
  • Must have manual transmission experience
  • Must have hand bombing experience
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable with smartphone technology
  • Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors
  • Must be bondable and legally able to work in Canada

Along With The Following Skills & Competencies

  • Must be comfortable backing into small docks
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis
