Affirm is seeking an innovative and strategic Total Rewards leader to spearhead the design and execution of cutting-edge compensation and benefits programs. This role requires a dynamic individual who excels in translating strategic business priorities into actionable, results-oriented initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive expertise in total rewards to help Affirm build high-performance teams, champion innovation and excellence, and optimize and evolve our programs as we grow.
What You’ll Do
Equity Grade - 24
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
CAN base pay range per year: $297,000 - $327,000
Affirm is proud to be a remote-first company! The majority of our roles are remote and you can work almost anywhere within the country of employment. Affirmers in proximal roles have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office. A limited number of roles remain office-based due to the nature of their job responsibilities.

What You’ll Do
- Develop and drive an innovative total rewards philosophy and strategy that aligns with Affirm's business objectives and enhances the employee experience.
- Leverage analytics, data visualization, planning, process efficiency, and critical thinking to inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Ensure that our total rewards practices are equitable. This includes regularly reviewing our practices for potential biases and making necessary adjustments to promote fairness and equality.
- Partner and collaborate internally with executives, senior leaders, and board members and externally with vendors and consultants regarding matters of significance to the organization.
- Compensation: Oversee the design and management of innovative compensation solutions for the company, design and manage executive compensation programs, and partner with the CPO on preparation for the Compensation Committee.
- Incentives: Oversee the design and management of corporate and functional incentive programs to motivate and reward employees. Own and oversee the process by which sales incentive programs are designed. Ensure that these programs are effective, fair, and aligned with rewarding the right business outcomes.
- Benefits: Oversee the design and management of Affirm's market leading benefits programs. This includes health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, and other employee perks. Ensure that our benefits offerings are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with our overall total rewards strategy.
- Recognition: Oversee the design and management of Affirm's employee recognition programs. Ensure that these programs effectively acknowledge and recognize employees for their contributions to the company.
- 15+ years of experience in global total rewards, preferably in high tech companies
- Excels as a people leader. Understands their team, their leaders and what each needs to thrive and succeed
- Creates and maintains a strong collaborative team who works well in partnership with others on the People team and across the business
- Progressive total rewards leadership with increasing levels of responsibility in identifying, consulting, designing, recommending, and implementing innovative solutions
- Deep subject matter expertise in total rewards, including trends, thought leadership, and practical application of these
- Strong analytical mindset; ability to read and leverage data to drive strategic decisions
- Excellent business acumen and judgment; able to maturely handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to lead change effectively; communicate complex information and recommendations to key stakeholders and influence good outcomes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple complex projects and decisions at once
- Ability to focus on the essential issues and simplify complexity for the team and the business
- Always pushing the envelope - constantly seeking ways to improve and raising the bar
