Description
We are looking for a talented Field service diesel technician to join our team in at an underground mining site in Northern Manitoba.
Cummins is on a hunt for a safety conscious self starter, well organized technician with the ability to work independently at an underground mine site. The ideal candidate will be required to support all aspects of the specific mine site equipment maintenance such as, OEM repairs and services. This position is 14 days on / 14 days off - night shift every second set.
Daily duties include maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment such as scoops, haul trucks, drills, and other Cummins powered equipment.

Key Responsibilities
To succeed in this role you will need the following :
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Red seal heavy duty technician certification
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Current relevant electrical certification (optional)
Locally valid driving permit.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with Cummins products
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience (optional)
Current and relevant Cummins engine diagnostics and repair experience would be an asset
Computer/web Based Diagnostic Skills And Abilities Are Essential

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Key Responsibilities
- Technical specialist and regular customer support contact to diagnose and complete less complex repairs to Cummins products at a single customer’s site.
- Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
- Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Coaches on preventative maintenance activities and basic repairs completed by customer employees.
- Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced On Site Technicians and/or Supervisor.
- Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

- Transportation provided from to/ from the mine site and the Winnipeg branch
