We are currently recruiting for an experienced Long Haul Driver to join our Grande Prairie, Alberta Waste Services team.

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime and occasional Saturday shifts. The role requires travel to the Northern BC and Alberta regions.

  • Comply with all jurisdiction traffic safety legislation;
  • Safely operate various units, including but not limited to tandem tractors and moffett forklifts.; in diverse weather and challenging work site environments
  • Abide by all Waste Management and customer plant-specific safety procedures
  • Ensure all waste containers are labeled in accordance with TDG Regulations. (Drums - stick on labels, Bags - in pocket, Bins - wire tie label). You will ensure all labels are completed in full including shipping name, generator name, approval number, TDG Class, UN number, Packing Group number, load number, drum number, etc.
  • Inspect all waste materials to ensure compliance with manifest, recycle docket and bill of lading descriptions.
  • Be part of an on-call rotation for off hours and weekends
  • Communicate effectively daily with the Dispatch to maximize customer needs and Secure’s efficiency.
  • Assist with operations at the facility
  • Minimum of 3 years driving experience in the transportation industry or demonstrated competency
  • Solid knowledge base with respect to Hours of Service, load securement and driving regulations
  • Solid understanding of Canadian geography, highway systems and remote oilfield locations
  • Prior experience in roll-off and/or vacuum truck operation is considered an asset
  • Class 1 Drivers License
