Our client, a midstream company, is seeking a Pipeline Integrity Engineer to work a 12-month contract in Calgary, AB.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineering registration with APEGA
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience involving pipeline integrity
  • Familiarity with pipeline integrity threat assessment and management, risk assessment, monitoring and mitigation strategies
  • Familiarity with in-line inspection analysis using MFL, Geometry, IMU, and ultrasonic technologies
  • Experience in pipeline operations, and maintenance
  • Theoretical understanding of pipeline defect assessment, evaluation and repair
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently given appropriate guidance, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks on tight deadlines
  • Demonstration of critical analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with coding will be beneficially

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assessing In-line inspection reports to determine verification and repair projects to confirm the integrity of pipeline segments.
  • Investigate historical operational conditions and create elevation maps
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on incoming reports
  • Compile data and information to perform engineering assessments for changes in pipeline operation and status
  • Support the preparation of questionnaires, review quotes from vendors and contracting companies for various ILI projects ensuring desirable requirements are met.
  • Report ongoing operation parameters for process optimization such as microanalysis of batching calculations, condensate usage
  • Assist in data gathering and reporting for regular information requests
  • Support projects under the supervision of an engineer in the Pipeline Implementation group
  • Conduct temporary ROW road crossing calculations and water crossing assessments for ROW program owner
  • Populate records management system with construction data (historical pressure test documentation, materials test records, coating types, etc.)
  • Assist in Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) and Purchase Order (PO) creation
  • Conduct data analysis to identify common themes in pipeline systems
  • Assist with managing external corrosion mitigation activities
