NACG is seeking a Surveyor to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.

For this role, NACG offers a combined rate of up to $53.82/hour as well as room for growth!

Where You’ll Be Working

  • Site Suncor
  • Schedule 14 x 7, 12-hour days (paid for 11.5 hours). 7 day, 7 nights, 7 off.
  • Accommodations Camp is not provided.
  • Transportation Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site.
  • Overtime Provided after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week.
  • Living Out Allowance $75/day worked Living Out Allowance.


Anticipated start date is January 1st, 2025.

What Makes You The ONE

  • 1 year of experience in survey party chief role
  • Must be skilled in unsupervised use of RTK GPS and Total station, and 3D scanners
  • Must be proficient with construction staking (roads, corridors, piping, slopes, etc) and as-built/topographic surveys
  • Experience with Trimble survey equipment considered an asset
  • Experience with volume calculation and design calculations in AutoCAD considered an asset.
  • Transport Canada RPAS Advanced (Drone) license required

  • Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid CSO or BSO (Energy Safety Canada)
  • Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • Be subject to Random Testing at Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
    • Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
    • Audiometric Testing
    • Vision Screening
    • Criminal Record Check
Once dispatched the following processes will occur

  • Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
  • An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
  • After all results and paperwork are received by NACG, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site-specific details.
